Dove campaign parody: You will laugh until your stomach hurts.

Have you ever wondered why women cover themselves up on the beach while men of various fitness levels strut around in budgie smugglers? This video could hold the key.

Last week a new Dove campaign, Real Beauty Sketches, went viral garnering over 16 million views on YouTube and within days US comedy group, New Feelings Time, uploaded a parody of the ad.

The original advertisement successfully challenges the way women perceive ourselves and our beauty by asking women to describe themselves and then having a forensic artist sketch them from the words alone. A stranger also describes the women for the sketch artist and then the drawings are compared – the result was astonishing.

If you can’t watch the below video right now, bookmark it and come back later – it’s hilarious. The parody pokes fun at how men, when compared with women, appear overconfident when it comes to their appearance and body image.

Take a look:

0:55 The sketch artist asks, “What would you say is your most prominent feature?” One man answers: “Probably my bulge.”

1:03 “The older I’ve gotten, the more stunning I’ve gotten” another man says.

1:11 “I have a balanced face … kind of like a white Denzel Washington” explains another male.

The video ends with the line, “Men. You’re less beautiful than you think.”
