A 3-month-old puppy was left at the airport with a heartbreaking letter from its owner.

A miniature Chihuahua has been abandoned at a Las Vegas airport because his owner couldn’t afford to take him while fleeing a domestic violence situation.

The three-month-old puppy called ‘Chewy’ was left in a bathroom next to a handwritten note that said:

“My owner was in an abusive relationship and couldn’t afford to get me on the flight. She didn’t want to leave me with all her heart but she had no other option.”

Little Chewy was also a victim of the violent household.

The note explained the owner’s ex-boyfriend had kicked the dog and that was the reason for “the big knot on his head”. It read “he probably needs a vet”.

Powerful men, and the women they lure. Post continues below.

Chewy was given by airport authorities to a local pet shelter, Connor and Millie’s Dog Rescue.

They’ve shared Chewy’s story on Facebook and said they’ve been inundated with “loving requests” for his adoption.
