Why you should ditch the fam and go away with the girls.

We all deserve a break with our mates. Here’s our guide to the best girls’ holidays going.

It’s two weeks until I head off for a big adventure with my sister and a friend and I can. Not. Wait. Yes, you read that right, I am ditching my kids and my partner and having a holiday without them.

Some people are very quick to judge calling me a bad mum and totally selfish but you know what, I deserve this. We all deserve it. As mums, partners, wives, sisters and friends we work every day making sure everyone else in our lives are happy and content.

We also put ourselves last and every so often we should put ourselves first. So why not grab your girls and book a day trip, a weekend away or a full blown holiday.

Here are some ideas to get you started:

Close to home.

If leaving the kids for a night isn’t doable what about a girls day out.

Relaxing day at a Day Spa – mani, pedi and a massage. What’s not to love.

High tea with a view – some gorgeous food and beautiful teas and cocktails. Pick a gorgeous little cottage or a hotel with a stunning view.

Adventure fun – laser tag or a scavenger hunt. Who says the boys need all the fun?

What's better than a bit of pampering?

Weekend away.

Road trip or a plane flight. A weekend away has endless possibilities.

Road trip - don't even pick a destination just grab your BFFs jump in and drive.

Camping - Bunch of your girlfriends, some wine, a fire and late night chats. Bliss.

Wine tour  - No matter where you live there's going to be some wine country within driving distance. Even a short flight would be worth this amazing girls weekend away.

Capital adventure - pick a capital city, any capital city. Australia has some stunning locations. Have a chat to the girls pick your favourite one and jump on a plane and head to the city lights.

Afar but not too far.

So you've decided that maybe you can head north, or even over seas. Here are a few our of fav far but not too far destinations.

Whitsundays - This northern paradise really doesn't need any explanation. It's gorgeous. The end.

Bali - Party time with the girls. Yes please.

Fiji - Sand, cocktails and amazing people. With so many islands to choose from it's hard to go wrong.

A Cruise - you're not technically staying in the country but you're not technically leaving it either. Win win.

Cruises are a great option if you want to visit a few places.

We're going on a jet plane.

If you're going to go on a holiday why not go all the way. All the way to the other side of the world that is. Check out these amazing international locations.

Greek Islands - 7,500km of coastline can only mean three thing. Lots of sand, sun and good times.

Europe - So much culture, so much history. Pick a country, any country.

Canada - Rocky mountains, Niagara Falls this amazing country has a lot to offer any group for a girls holiday.

A volunteer holiday - if you can't imagine leaving the kids for a week of shopping and sight seeing why not organise a volunteer abroad trip. Time away from the family and helping others at the same time.
