Why a fashion designer Photoshopped Bruce Jenner onto her own body.

The verdict is in on Diane von Furstenburg’s Bruce Jenner mash-up photo: TOO WEIRD.

Von Furstenburg, wrap-dress progenitor, socialite and kook, posted a picture of herself in a 1974 DVF ad campaign modelling one of her signature dresses, but superimposed Jenner’s head over the top.

The tagline on the ad was “Feel like a woman, wear a dress.”

Bruce Jenner’s head on Diane von Furstenburg’s body. That’s not creepy at all.

The image was reportedly removed shortly after it was posted, but screenshots, Diane. Screenshots!

Accompanying the picture, she wrote, “You are the woman you wanted to be! I salute your strength, courage and honesty. By speaking out, you have spoken for so many who suffer.. … Love Diane.”

Diane von Furstenburg isn’t the first person to electronically mess with Bruce Jenner’s face, as evidenced by this bizarre In Touch cover.

She tagged Jenner’s step-daughter Kim Kardashian and daughter Kendall Jenner in the post.

Von Furstenburg was obviously trying to show solidarity with the former Olympian, but it just proved too odd for most.

Jenner, who discussed his decision to transition in an interview with Diane Sawyer on Friday, has indicated that he intends to live as a woman.

Von Furstenburg has embraced social media but her Jenner tribute was deemed a bit of a faux pas. Image via Instagram.

Some responses labelled the picture “insanely inappropriate”, “tasteless”, and “just bizarre”.

Von Furstenburg did not respond to requests for comment on the Instagram picture, but she released the following statement.

“I admire Bruce Jenner’s strength, courage and honesty and have so much respect for him using his voice to speak for people who have none. I wish him nothing but a lifetime of happiness,” reports CNN.
