We all know that Spring Racing Carnival is really about the fashion.

The week has kicked off in style at Flemington Racecourse in Melbourne with Derby Day on yesterday. The weather had started out a little grim with wind and rain greeting racegoers, but that didn’t stop Australia’s finest from looking, well, fine.

It’s not that everyone had awkwardly bought an outfit in the same colour: Derby Day has a strict black-and-white dress code.
