Did this woman's dead relative just appear in her selfie?

A woman in Romania is flipping the freak out, insisting that she has her hands on the world’s very first haunted selfie.

Apparently Gina Mihai’s dead grandmother somehow used her phone to take a selfie from beyond the grave. When Gina found the selfie she freaked out big time and told the whole town, who have now started praying for her grandmother’s soul.

So, um, this is what a grandma ghost selfie looks like:

Freaky. Gina told The Austrian Times that the photo appeared on her phone out of nowhere, after she’d had it switched off for a short period of time while she was, get this, MAKING DOUGHNUTS. Spooooky.

She’s convinced her grandma took the selfie “through a tear in the fabric that separates the living from the dead.”

*slow nod* *sideways glance*

Gina took the picture to a ghost-selfie expert (fortune teller) who told her that the ‘snake’ around her poor grandma’s neck indicates that she is being punished in the afterlife for her sins, and desperately needs the living to pray for her redemption.

The whole town then lost its collective mind in fear, and the local church is now packed with people praying that the grandma snake doughnut ghost selfie lady doesn’t snatch them from their beds in the middle of the night.

Apparently the aforementioned doughnuts are significant: Every year in Romania there is something called the Service of Alms, in which families take food to the local graveyard to offer as a gift to those who have passed. And Gina, the slacker, hadn’t taken food to her grandma’s grave ONCE in the three years since she died.

Gina thinks her granny took the selfie on her phone while she was making doughnuts to remind her that she needs to haul arse down to the cemetery with some roast beef. Stat.

The village priest has ordered everyone in town to take food to the gravesite for the next 40 days, in order to save granny’s soul.

Seriously though, how the frig did that photo get on there? Is it actually a haunted selfie, or just some really clever old lady who figured out how to get the whole town to cook for her for 40 days?
