Mother of the "Aussie Kardashians" shares how she raises nine daughters alone.

If you’re not yet familiar with the name Daniella Borg, you’re in for an absolute treat.

Daniella is the matriarch of the family who have been dubbed the  “Aussie Kardashians” by fans across Australia.

She is 47-years-old , a mother-of-nine and a force to be reckoned with.

Listen to Daniella explain how she raises her nine daughters in front of a camera crew.

Daniella leads the charge in Family Rules, SBS’s latest documentary series that follows the lives of her and all nine of her daughters in Perth, Western Australia.

The matriarch was kind enough to appear on our television podcast, The Binge, to explain what it’s like being thrust into the spotlight with a title tied to reality television royalty.

“We’re really overwhelmed by that label. I don’t really know where it came from. I don’t think we’re anything like the Kardashians, in terms of what they do and what we do,” she said.

The mother-of-nine explained why she believed fans drew parallels between her series and Keeping Up With The Kardashians.

“There’s a few tears, there’s the laughs,” she said.

Family Rules marries the intensity of the reality TV format with the culturally informative charge of an observational documentary. The series spreads over six electric episodes to offer an insight into their family life.

Daniella said she hoped her experience resonated with people – especially young parents whose stories may not be too different from her own.

“As a young parent, you sort of put your hands up and go, ‘oh what am I going to do, this child is chucking a tantrum,” she said.

She said the biggest hurdle was in understanding which of her daughters' needs should take priority and which can be sidelined.

"The challenge is to balance everybody's needs," she said.

Borg was widowed after her husband and father of her nine children, Kevin Rule, was fatally punched outside a pub in 2004. Despite such tragedy, Daniella maintains a broadly positive outlook on life.

"A lot of people have gone through worse experiences than myself and I acknowledge that," she said.

Listen to The Binge for more from Daniella and her impressive family, plus what's making news this week.
