Beer-drinking heckler stumbles into a cop's media conference. Immediately regrets it.

In possibly the best bit of live television we’ve seen all year, a police officer stopped a press conference to arrest a local man who was swearing and drinking a beer.

A crowd of reporters and camera operators had gathered outside Albury police station in regional NSW around 10.30am on Monday for a press conference that quickly turned into something else entirely.

Detective Inspector Winston Woodward was addressing the media when a man with a beer bottle walked towards the crowd and yelled out 'bulls**t'.

Det Insp Woodward was quick to act - he turned away from the camera, walked towards the man and forced him to empty out his beer bottle into a nearby rubbish bin.

The police officer then grabbed the man by the shirt and dragged him into the police station.

The man can be heard yelling as he is escorted into the station and possibly, hopefully, regretting his 15 seconds of fame.

The man was fined $500 for swearing in public and Det Insp Woodward returned to calmly complete the press conference.

What a legend.
