'Clueless' cast reunites after 17 years

Remember when your fashion hero was a slightly clueless girl named Cher, played by Alicia Silverstone? Can you believe that 17 years have passed since then? As if!

To celebrate the anniversary of the iconic 1995 comedy Clueless, a handful of cast members — including Silverstone, Stacey Dash (Dionne), Donald Faison (Murray) and Breckin Meyer (Travis) — reunited for an Entertainment Weekly cover story. They also sat for an interview with Good Morning America, which you can watch below!

Clueless was one of the biggest films of the '90s, but the cast admits that its success took them by surprise.

"At the time, people were saying like, 'Who wants to watch a bunch of young people?'" recalled Silverstone, 36.

Faison, 28, also admitted that expectations were low — partly because the cast didn't always understand their slang-y dialogue.

"I had no idea what the hell I was saying," the actor told EW. "What’s going postal mean? And when they explained to me what it meant, I thought, 'That’s really messed up!'"

Silverstone was also mystified by her character's main obsession: fashion. "I didn't understand fashion at all," she told GMA. "I had 60 changes, I was so tired, and I didn't understand why I had to keep having fittings. So I kind of hated them. But then when I saw the movie I was like, 'I understand!'"

During the reunion, the cast took a moment to memorialize their late costar Brittany Murphy, who died in December 2009 at the age of 32. When asked what they remembered most about her, they all thought of the same thing. "Her laugh, totally. Contagious," said Silverstone.

Absent from the reunion were a couple of Clueless's most successful stars, including Paul Rudd (who graduated from dorky love interest to leading man); Jeremy Sisto (currently starring in the comedy Suburgatory); and Wallace Shawn (currently appearing on Gossip Girl). Silverstone and Shawn both have starring roles in Clueless director Amy Heckerling's newest film, Vamps.
