Man charged with murder over two Claremont deaths.

A 48-year-old man has been charged with the deaths of two women who were killed in Claremont, WA in the 1990s.

Western Australian police said the 48-year-old man is charged with the murders of Jane Rimmer and Ciara Glennon.

Ms Rimmer’s body was discovered in August 3, 1996, with police alleging the man abducted the 23-year-old  in the early hours of June 9, 1996, after she’d had a night out with friends in Claremont.

It is also alleged he abducted 27-year-old Ms Glennon on Friday, March 14, 1997, after she too had a night out in Claremont. Her body was found on April 3 of the same year.

In addition to those charges, the 48-year-old has also been charged with attacks on two other women, a 17-year-old in Claremont in 1995 and an 18-year-old in Huntingdale in 1988.

He is due to appear in the Perth Magistrates Court later today.
