Home and Away's Christie Hayes got a huge surprise at her wedding to her longtime love.

A huge congratulations to Home & Away actress and Mamamia contributor Christy Hayes is in order, who has wed her longtime love, Daniel White in an intimate NSW ceremony.

Saying “I do” surrounded by their nearest and dearest on August 27, it was a wedding that almost didn’t happen, with the pair originally planning to elope.

The pair got engaged after three months of dating three years ago, but they faced a number of timing setbacks – not least the arrivals of their two sons Hendrix and Harley a year ago – and decided that marrying while on holiday in the Maldives and celebrating with family and friends when they returned home was the best course of action.

But just six days before they were due to fly out, the pair learned that their marriage would not be legally binding upon returning to Australia.

Faced with a decision, the pair decided to turn their Lilyvale National Park wedding party into a wedding and added a short ceremony onto the celebration.

Wearing a custom-made Couture by Francesca gown, the bride says the theme for the big day was “A Midsummer Night’s Dream”, with decadent chandeliers of flowers hanging throughout the outdoor ceremony and nearby reception.

The one surprise of the day, Hayes says, was her husband’s vows, which he wrote for her before the ceremony.

Sharing them with her near 10,000 followers on Instagram, they read:

“Christie, you are my reason for living, my world and now my wife,

You are the mother of my children, and my best friend for life.

I promise to be there for you, through thick and through thin,

To be your rock when you need me, and to soften at your whim.

I will keep you well fed, and make our home safe at night,

And I promise to listen to you, before we turn out the light.

You’re all that I asked for, and much more than that,

You’re my soulmate and lover, and always have my back. Thank you for the good times, and the memories we share,

And for the two beautiful boys, that now breathe the same air.

I know one thing for certain, and this much is true,

Our love will last forever, and I owe it all to you.”

Nawww. We wish you a long, happy and loving life together, guys!
