Sickening: This video of a teenage girl being bashed has been shared over 50,000 times.

A sickening ambush attack by two teenage girls on a 15-year old caught on camera.

This 15-year old girl thought she was catching up with friends at her local skate park.

She had been lured there by a text message from girls she thought were her friends.

A video of what happened next uploaded has been Facebook, and shared over 50,000 times.

The footage shows the girl in white shorts and a black top approach a silver sedan in the car park adjacent to Lake Haven skate park on the NSW Central Coast on December 29.

The car door opens and an attack begins.

And then a 16-year-old girl steps in, grabs her by the hair and drags her along the ground.

Watching the attack is a crowd of people – at least a dozen of them.

It’s a sickening, disgusting minute long video and the victim – just 15-years old.

On The Project last night the victim of the attack sat alongside her mother and said she was now too scared to leave her home.

“I think ‘what’s going to happen next?’ or ‘are they going to come back and get me?”

One of the attackers, a 14-year old has been arrested and will appear in court today charged with affray and assault occasioning actual bodily harm.

Police said they are still looking for another girl over the incident.

A 19-year old male who encourages the older girl to “smash her” has also been charged with affray and assault occasioning actual bodily harm.

Criminologist Emmeline Taylor told News Limited that teenagers are the most violent Australians.

“Across Australia and universally, the trend shows there is a sharp incline in criminal behaviour in early adolescence,” Dr Taylor said.

Australian Institute of Criminology statistics show that since 2003 the proportion of adult female detainees whose most serious offence was a violent one has increased from 16% to 20%.

And inflaming the situation is the role of social media.

The victim’s mother said that she could not understand why people watched and shared the video.

“I guess it’s the notoriety. They feel like they’re good in some way for doing this. but as you say, in our day, it was not something to be proud of.”
