Celebrate Australia day with the Havaianas Australia Day Thong Challenge

Happy participants in the Havaianas Australia Day Thong Challenge

Australia’s favourite summer event will be hitting five beaches nationwide this Australia Day and will see participants band together in an attempt to set a new world record for the longest line of giant inflatable Havaianas joined in the water. Now in its eighth year the Havaianas Australia Day Thong Challenge continues to raise funds for charity, with a total of $52,260 raised in 2012 to support the local Nippers club at each state’s beach.

The popular event is synonymous with Australia Day, and creates a unique sight across each state’s most prominent beaches simultaneously. The friendly but feisty spirit of Australia is present across the entire country, as family members from every generation join together to be a part of Australia’s number one summer event.

Australians are encouraged to get competitive and join in the fun on January 26th, and take part in a world record attempt. What better way is there to spend a fun fuelled family Australia day than together on one of Australia’s best beaches?!

A great way to celebrate Australia Day

Western Australia took out the challenge in 2012 and beat neighbouring states, setting a new world record of 2,088 people. NSW, SA, QLD & VIC – the challenge is on, to win this year!

Registration costs just $25 and as part of your registration you will receive a giant inflatable Havaianas (valued @ $49.95) so get online now to secure your spot – www.havaianasthongchallenge.com.au.
