The latest JonBenet Ramsey documentary features a very sick twist.

In case you hadn’t had already got your fix of the JonBenet Ramsey case following several investigative documentaries last year, Netflix have just dropped the trailer for the latest one – Casting JonBenet.

Coinciding with the 20 year anniversary of the six year-old pageant queen’s unsolved murder, this is one documentary with a difference.

In fact, the trailer raises more questions than it answers.

Blurring the line between documentary and drama, director Kitty Green returns to the scene of the crime - Boulder, Colorado - to audition local actors for a 'recreation' of the infamous 1996 murder.

But not only do we see the actors in 'character' as the Ramsey family and other people connected to the case, but they also share their own memories of the case, how it affected them personally and their own theories on what really happened on that Christmas night.

Listen: John Ramsey talks about the moment they discovered Jonbenet was missing. Post continues after audio.

"[It] examines how this crime and its resulting mythologies have shaped the attitudes and behavior of successive generations of parents and children," Netflix have previously said of the documentary.

It's eerie, emotional and it drops on April 28th.

For the biggest TV news of the week, listen to the latest episode of The Binge.

But while the almost three-minute trailer drops some major hints of what to expect, it's leaving many viewers already confused.

"Is anybody else confused as hell as what this is going to be?" reads the top comment on the video's YouTube posting.

"So is it a show about JonBenet or a show about casting people for a show about JonBenet or the actors also being interviewed about the story? Damn Netflix got me confused.," reads another.

This is one to add to your must-watch list.
