'How my best friend's wedding also turned out to be the best day of my life.'

When Charley Lunn recently tied the knot with her long-time beau, Andrew Lunn, she organised a beautiful surprise for one of her bridesmaids.

Her bridesmaid, Kristina Cooper, was also dating her brother George Attard.

Charley, Andrew and George thought their Mediterranean beach wedding in Malta would be the perfect place – and setting – for George to ask Kristina to marry him.

So when it came time for Charley to throw the bouquet, she walked straight up to Kristina and handed it to her.

Then George walked up to a very surprised Kristina, got down on one knee and asked her to marry him.

And, of course, she said yes.

Charley recently told the Nine Network the two grooms originally came up with the idea over a game of golf.

“Andy came home and asked me what I thought,” she told the news outlet. “I screamed and messaged my brother straight away saying 10,000 times ‘yes!’ I did not hesitate as I am so happy to finally see my brother happy… Kristina brings out the best in him.”

The siblings then spent the next few months planning the surprise – and Kristina had no idea what they were up to.

On her Facebook page, Kristina described the proposal as the “best moment” of her life.

“I didn’t know you could be so romantic George Attard. Thank you to everyone involved and who kept this a secret for so long! Best surprise ever!”

This isn’t the first time a bride has shared her big day with her bridesmaid. Last month, a photographer shared a touching moment he witnessed at a wedding.

One of the most beautiful and unselfish things I’ve ever witnessed shooting weddings… Leading up to the wedding Jessica’s bridesmaid and best friend (also Jess) worked tirelessly to ensure the preparations and wedding day were perfect. To show her appreciation the bride decided to share her special day with her friend, coordinating the proposal with Jess’ boyfriend. Instead of throwing the bouquet, the bride spun around and walked over to her best friend. Everything froze as she said “Jess… turn around…” #destinationweddingphotographer #theknot #greenweddingshoes @greenweddingshoes #junebugmagazine #photobugcommunity @photobugcommunity #wedding #lookslikefilm @lookslikefilm #intimatewedding #weddingdress #bride #exploretocreate #chasinglight #togetherweroam

“Leading up to the wedding Jessica’s bridesmaid and best friend (also Jess) worked tirelessly to ensure the preparations and wedding day were perfect,” Ross Dance wrote on Instagram.

“To show her appreciation the bride decided to share her special day with her friend, coordinating the proposal with Jess’ boyfriend.”

When the time came to toss her flowers, Jess the bride spun around to face her friend. As she walked towards Jess, she told her to turn around.

You can guess what happened next.

Dance described it as one of the “most beautiful and unselfish things” he’d witnessed shooting weddings, so you know it’s something special.

Excuse us, there’s something in our eyes.
