Heartbreak as Brazilian footballer found out he was going to be a dad just one week before tragic death.

Crushing footage of a Brazilian footballer, who lost his life in Monday night’s Colombian jet crash, has been released, showing the moment he found out he was going to become a father.

Heartbreakingly, Tiago da Rocha Vieira, the Chapecoense team forward, learned of his wife Graziele’s pregnancy just one week before his untimely death, which also claimed the lives of 75 others.

In the video, which was filmed by teammates in a hotel room, the 22-year-old is seated against a wall and instructed to open a gift and note from Graziele. Upon reading the joyous news, Tiago leaps to his feet to dance and chant with his friends.

The once happy celebration of impending fatherhood is now a source of pain for the Vieira family, who shared the footage to Facebook after announcing his death.

The video comes after the last telephone call made between Chapecoense goalkeeper Marcos Danilo and his wife made national headlines. Danilo was just one of the seven people found alive in the wreckage, but died moments after ending the phone call from the severe injuries he had sustained.

Together, the 31-year-old and his wife had a young son.

The team, which had relished a remarkably successful season, were traveling to Colombia to play in, the Copa Sudamerica final, what would've been the biggest game in the club's history.
