Jodi Gordon responds to ex-husband Braith Anasta suggesting she sold her ring for handbags.

Former Home and Away star, Jodi Gordon, has taken the high moral ground after her ex-husband, Braith Anasta, said the engagement ring he gave her was a “bad investment”.

The pair, who split in December 2015, were married for three years and have a three year-old daughter Aleeia.

This week, in an interview with KIIS FM’s Kyle and Jackie O, the former Roosters star asked the radio hosts to help him choose a gift for his current girlfriend, Rachael Lee.

Anasta said he had a few thousand dollars to spend on Lee’s 30th birthday and radio host Kyle Sandilands suggested he buy an engagement ring.

“Please don’t say that,” Anasta replied.

When the retired rugby league player was asked if he was still married to actress Jodi Anasta, he confirmed his divorce was “all done”.

Then Sandilands asked if he got his engagement ring back from the Home and Away star.

The 35-year-old former footballer said: “No way.”

“That was a bad investment…She probably brought a few bags with it… handbags.”

Jodi Anasta, 32, has responded to the comments on Instagram with a picture of a quote from Michelle Obama.

“When someone is cruel or acts like a bully, you don’t stoop to their level,” it says.

“No, our motto is when they go low, we go high.”

The mother of one added a hashtag: #shinebrightlikeadiamond.

After the couple split, they released a shared statement saying they wanted “the best for each other” and their daughter Aleeia – who was 22 months old at the time.

The 35-year-old father previously said there was “no animosity” between the pair.
