A two-year-old boy was abducted in QLD.

Police say they have now located the missing two-year-old – and he is safe – they thank social media users for their help in spreading the word about the missing boy.

Police are appealing for public assistance after a toddler was abducted by a man in a car south of Cairns this afternoon.

A man put the two-year-old into a silver car at Wiseman Road, Edmonton shortly after 2pm today.

Police said the man was known to the boy, but the toddler might be at risk.

The little boy was wearing a white and grey Thomas the Tank Engine shirt with a red collar, denim shorts and Thomas the Tank Engine sandals.

He has olive skin, light brown hair, brown eyes and is about 100cm tall.

The man is described as Caucasian with light brown hair, brown eyes and a medium build. He was last seen wearing a black T-shirt, black shorts and was carrying a dark backpack.

Police released an image of the type of car the man was driving – a silver 1998 Ford Falcon, registration number 726 TYN.
