Take a quick mental inventory of your wardrobe/floordrobe; whether you rock a girly feminine vibe or wear a leather biker jacket like no one’s business, I’m going to put money on you already owning this easy-to-wear and timeless trend.
Like hash browns and hangovers, Nutella and everything, and popcorn with ice cream (hey, don’t knock it ‘til you try it), black and white just go together. Always have, always will.
It’s the one trend you won’t regret shopping this year, simply because it never goes out of style. Angelina Jolie knows it (see: sex-on-legs tuxedo at the BAFTAs), every French fashion editor knows it, and its everywhere on Instagram during Fashion Month.
Lately designers have been playing with textured and structured versions of the style staples, which are less cocktail waitress and more sporty-luxe. Take a look:

I thought the fashion rule was going to be to wear the correct pant length, those pants look like they could use a visit to the tailors.
I moved from Melbourne to Queensland a few years ago and realised a majority of my wardrobe was black and white with a few splashes of royal blue/green/red. I had to make a conscious effort to buy more colourful clothing as I realised I looked like I was going to a funeral compared to everyone else! (Still keep the black and white for Melbourne visits though.)
