Five scents for summertime

After literally years of wearing a single scent fragrance (coconut and vanilla), I’ve decided to try out some new smells for summertime.

There are so many new kids on the block, but these are my current Top Five (Designer) Fragrances – including two classics and a couple of not-quite-on-counter picks.

If you like white flowers. honey and/or vanilla, you’re going to love these.

1. Gucci Gucci Premiere

Gucci Gucci Premiere EDP (50ml), $132.

Golden girl Blake Lively and a golden bottle – this perfume is all-out glamour.

Top notes: Bergamot, orange blossom.
Heart notes: White flowers, musk.
Base notes: Leather, wood.

2. Elie Saab Le Parfum

Elie Saab Le Parfum (50ml), $138

Anja Rubik is the face and the scent is as knock-out as the gowns. The heart notes are the stars and the little touch of honey is what you’ll notice at the end of the day.

Top notes: Mandarin blossom.
Heart notes: Orange blossom, gardenia.
Base notes: Vetiver, rose, honey.

3. Hugo Boss Nuit Pour Femme

Gwyneth. Peach. Violet. The End.

Top notes: White peach.
Heart notes: Jasmine, white flowers, violet.
Base notes: Crystal moss, warm woods, sandalwood.

4. Marc Jacobs Dot

Marc Jacobs Dot (50ml), $120

Australian model Codie Young faces the fragrance alongside an actual lady bug. This is a super-pretty, super-light summer scent – the jasmine and vanilla linger all day.

Top notes: Red berries, dragonfruit, honeysuckle.
Heart notes: Jasmine, coconut water, orange blossom.
Base notes: Vanilla, driftwood, musk.

5. Bottega Veneta Parfum

Bottega Veneta Parfum (20ml purse spray), $80

No, it’s not Natalie Portman - this heavenly fragrance is faced by Nine d’Urso (daughter of French style icon Inès de la Fressange) and now comes in a chic, affordable purse spray.

Top notes: Pink peppercorn, bergamot, lily of the valley.
Heart notes: Jasmine, leather, patchouli.
Base notes: Oakmoss.
