My book

It’s come to that time of the week again where we share our best and worst moments. And what a week it’s been here at Mamamia- as February kicks on and we get closer and closer to the launch of Mamamia 3.0, we get busier every day.

This week we’ve discussed everything from men looking after kids to Tony Abbott to Black Swan. We’ve shared our dreams, our First World Problems and our biggest Book Fails. We watched the top Superbowl ads and an interview with Jenny Macklin about the Paid Parental Leave scheme.

Now, if you’re new to Best and Worst, remember your ‘worsts’ can be as trivial or as tragic as you like.

I’ll go first….

BEST: I received the first copies of my new book. This is always a slightly weird moment. It’s the 3rd book I’ve done and it’s always a little…..scary? Confronting? Exciting? All of the above and about 199 other adjectives. Booktopia was lovely enough to write their review here and you can pre-order it from the same place online if you can’t wait until it goes on sale in two weeks.

WORST: Week two of school for my daughter and it’s slowly sinking in that THIS IS IT. She was totally over it by the end of the first week and I’m trying not to say “one week down, 13 years to go”. I think it’s going to be a long term.

Fire investigators claim sparks from an angle grinder being used by 56-year-old Sergeant Robert 'Bob' Stevens, who was off-duty at the time, caused Sunday's massive blaze. The Roleystone community have come out in support of 'Uncle Bob,' who is said to be devastated by the claims.

Lindsay Lohan pleads not guilty to felony grand theft charges. She is accused of stealing a $2,500 necklace. She was released on $40,000 bail.

Myer buys a 65 per cent stake in designer fashion house Sass & Bide for $42.25 million

Matthew Newton is charged with allegedly contravening an apprehended violence order and using a phone to menace or harass, against former girlfriend Rachael Taylor. Reportedly texting Taylor up to 40 times in the one day.

Pepsi-Co launches it's skinny can of Diet Pepsi at New York Fashion Week.

Dannii Minogue launches her clothing line 'Project D' on the runway at the David Jones Winter catwalk parade.

Her new fashion line has also been chronicled in a new TV show: Dannii Minogue: Style Queen. It is a three-part documentary which will air later this month on Fox8.

A new study has found that 50% of Norwegian airline pilots admitted to falling asleep in the cockpit, with pilots saying their drowsiness was due to excessive workloads.

A pregnant woman in Colorado was mistakenly given an abortion pill by a drugstore pharmacist. Only six weeks into her pregnancy, she now faces an agonizing wait before finding out if her unborn child will survive.

Swimming with polar bears: Cochrane Polar Bear Habitat in Ontario in Canada, offers visitors the chance to swim with the world's largest land predator.
