Very exciting news.
They were on The Block Sky High in 2013 and came back on The Block Triple Threat for a short time this year and now our favourite Block couple have just announced they’re going to have a baby.
Rebecca and George Douros (better known as Bec and George) have posted a cheeky instagram photo with the caption, “We are having a BABY! #dueoctober #babylove.”
The couple are over the moon with their baby news and it seems it's been in the plans for some time.
Their profile on The Block's website says, "It was either a baby or The Block for this dynamic duo from Melbourne. 'With our family background we’re pretty keen to get a start on producing some more cousins for the cousins,' says George who is Greek. Bec and George, who have been together for 10 years, were shortlisted for The Block 2012 but didn’t make it through to the elimination round. 'We’d almost given up on The Block but decided to give it one last shot before we settled down and started our family,' Bec said."
So the baby news is definitely exciting for everyone.
Since appearing on The Block Bec has started a website called Bec Marks the Spot, which provides advice on all things fashion, lifestyle and styling/interiors. The blog says, "Meanwhile George has been busy building and developing properties as well as building and constructing the duos new home."
Hopefully he's built enough space for a nursery.
The couple have both lost mothers to cancer and so continue to work closely with the National Breast Cancer Foundation, having raised over $60,000 towards cancer research so far.
This baby news is an exciting time for the young couple and we wish them all the luck with their pregnancy journey this year. We can't wait for the baby announcement in October.
