Bart Simpson says goodbye to Mrs. Krabappel.

It makes sense that it would be in the classroom they shared.

The Simpsons have paid tribute to Marcia Wallace, the voice of Edna Krabappel, by having Bart scribble a message to her during the iconic chalkboard scene from the opening credits.

Wallace who died last week of cancer aged 70, had been the voice of Mrs. Krabappel since the show’s launch over 20 years ago.

Executive producer Al Jean said in a statement that Wallace’s character was ‘irreplaceable’ and will now be written out of the show.
