The BAFTAs (The British Academy of Film and Television Arts awards) are the Brits version of the Oscars, and the stars are currently hitting the red carpet.

Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt hit the red carpet in coordinated tuxes, Saint Laurent for Jolie, Valentino for Pitt. One of our favourite style crushes, Lupita Nyong’o, was flawless in an emerald green Christian Dior haute couture. And Blue Jasmine nominee Cate Blanchett looked elegant in a black Alexander McQueen frock.

Oprah was in attendance for her role in The Butler and shared a video on her Instagram account showing her being stitched into her Stella McCartney frock.

This just in: Cate Blanchett has won the best actress BAFTA, and dedicated her award to the late Philip Seymour Hoffman.

“Your monumental talent, your generosity and your unflinching quest for truth both in life and in art, will be missed by so many people … You raised the bar, continually, so very very high and all we can do in your absence is try to raise it.”

“Phil, buddy, you bastard, this is for you. I hope you’re proud.”
