Matty shares the first thing he did after Georgia broke his heart, and there were tears.

We know what WE did in the hours after we learned Matty J had left Singapore a single man and Georgia Love had sailed off into the sunset with Lee instead.

(Hint: it involved a lot of tears, and ice cream and possibly some tequila. Don’t judge us.)

But what did Matty J do after Georgia told him she had fallen in love with someone else? Turns out, it’s just as heartbreaking.

“I was in such shock. And we were on the rooftop of the Sofitel so I had to walk back down to the foyer and hop into a lift,” he told Mamamia.

The moment Matty realised he wasn’t the one. Post continues after video.

“A lot of the crew were standing around, on either side of the corridor with their heads bowed, telling me it was going to be okay. It’s almost like you are being sent off to be executed and you’re never to be seen again.”

Oh, Matty, that doesn’t sound fun. That doesn’t sound fun AT ALL.

The 29-year-old was then moved to a separate hotel to the couple (because you know that would have been a very awkward breakfast buffet the next morning), where he let his emotions out.

“That’s when I had a beer and called my mum and told her the news. I had a bit of a cry,” he said.

“As soon as I got to the hotel room, I shut the door and called my mum and just hearing her voice, all of the emotion came pouring out.”

If you are wondering if being broken up with on a reality television is just as bad as being broken up with in real life, the answer from Matty is a resounding YES.

"The first two weeks I was back in Sydney, I was treating it like I was trying to get over an ex-girlfriend. I thought I was doing pretty well, then all of a sudden the promos started and you forget that it’s all going to be replayed on screen," Matty confessed.

"That’s been the hardest thing, the constant reminder of Georgia. The whole nation has fallen in love with her and being reminded of how incredible she is makes it so much harder."
