Autocorrect is the enemy. A primary school just learned that the hard way.

Ah autocorrect, you’ve done it again. The victim of its cruel and puzzling ways this time? A primary school in England.

Sending a text message to the parents of students attending St Mary’s Primary School ahead of the Easter break, the original message read:

“Remember – Church Service tomorrow at 2pm. Please join us for refreshments afterwards and if we can wash your dirty willies, please bring them along Thank you.”

Six minutes later the error was realised, with a follow up text reading, “I am so sorry, it’s WELLIES!!!! WELLINGTON BOOTS. Sincere apologies for any offence caused.”

A photo of the Freudian slip messages soon made their way to Twitter, with one user posting, “My favourite typo this Easter weekend…”

Ours too, Steve Jones. Ours too.

But why a school is offering to clean the wellington boots of its parents though, we’re still not sure…
