The seven Australian-made products we're obsessed with.

Lately, I’ve gotten into a bit of an obsessive habit. First it started in my bathroom cabinet, then it spread its way into my kitchen pantry. Now, every time I go to my local shopping centre, I can’t stop…

It’s checking labels.

Scrawled in tiny little letters usually hidden right at the bottom, if I squint my eyes slightly enough I can usually make it out. No, I’m not talking about how many calories in ‘this’ or the amount of sugar in ‘that’. I’m talking about where the product I’m using, or about to purchase, came from.

With so many different items on the market, I want to make sure my hard earned cashola is being used to support Australian-made products. There’s something extra special about products that have been made on our own shores.

Aussies get Aussies and they take pride in their products. When you buy something that is Australian made you know the quality is going to be on point and supporting local producers gives you that extra feel-great tingle.

You’re doing something good when you buy Aussie products. At least that’s how I justify my excessive and impulsive moderate and thoughtful purchases. Here are some of the Australian made products that the Mamamia team can’t get enough of:

1. Organic Care.

Organic Care are my latest obsession I came across in the aisle of my local Woolies. They do a range of shampoos, conditioners, body washes and hand washes that I’ve fallen head over heels for. Their products contain certified organic oils and plant extracts which not only leave your hair and skin feeling amazing, they smell delicious.

My go-to product in their range is their Heat Protect Shampoo and Conditioner, $3.55 each. This product has left my hair silky and soft even though I’m not too kind to it by blasting it with the hairdryer then straightening it with an iron… These products are well and truly your best friend and make you feel like you’ve got nature right there next to you.

2. Camilla.

Looking at anything made my Camilla Franks instantly puts a smile on my dial. I recently invested in my first Camilla item, the Kingdom Call Shoestring Strap Playsuit, for Christmas Day celebrations and I received comment after comment about it.

Not only do Camilla designs add a burst of colour to your wardrobe during summer, from their kaftans to their swimwear, their designs are super comfortable and easy to wear. Their designs are made from only the best fabrics and are a great investment for your wardrobe. They never date and will certainly make you stand out from the crowd.

3. Auguste the Label.

If you're checking out that gorgeous billowy dress your office pal is wearing, bets are it came from Auguste the Label. This Byron Bay label is quickly rising in popularity. Their designs are beachy yet always look chic and put together.

Their recent collections are full of on trend off the shoulder pieces which can easy go from the beach to a dinner out with friends.

4. Jets.

When it comes to swimwear that looks awesome but it also easy to wear, Jets gets it. They offer a range of different styles from bikini to one pieces in both classic block colours and bold prints.

Their quality is unmatched and when compared to some other designers are quite affordable.

5. Byron Bay Cookies.

There's only one word that can describe Byron Bay Cookies. YUM. Seeing a big jar of these cookies on the counter of my local cafe instantly makes me want to pull up a seat and order a coffee. They don't skimp on their serving size and are full of great big chunks, just the way I like them.

6. Haigh's Chocolate.

There is never any disappointment when I see a bag of Haigh's Chocolates at the bottom of my stocking when it comes to Christmas time.

A trip into one of their stores is an experience on its own, leaving me feeling like a kid again. Their milk roasted macadamias are my favourite but I definitely wouldn't say no to any of their confectionery.

7. Lucky You Cleanse Juices.

After you've eaten all of those Byron Bay Cookies and Haighs Chocolates, you need a good ol' juice to pick your right back up. And the range of Lucky You Cleanse Juices are just the ones to do it.

They come in trendy jars that can be reused and are all fresh, raw and unpasteurised. They're made with only the best ingredients and instantly make you feel healthier after one sip.
