Australia has flown the colours of the French flag in solidarity with the people of France following the Paris terror attacks.

The Sydney Opera House was lit in the tricolour of the French flag, while a French flag was flown over the Harbour Bridge.

New South Wales Premier Mike Baird’s message to the French people was “we mourn with you and stand with you, Paris.”

Brisbane’s Story Bridge will also be lit in blue, white and red.

And so too will the Melbourne Arts Centre and the MCG.

Meanwhile, the flags at Adelaide Town Hall are being flown at half mast.

The eyes of the world are on Paris tonight and our hearts are with its citizens.

We hope and pray for their safety.
