Andy Lee reveals the very weird technique celebrities use to score dates with each other.

“Dating as a celebrity must be soooo easy,” you might think.

And if you’re a celebrity who’s crushing on another famous face, things must be even easier, right?

You’d see each other at public appearances and events all the time, giving you ample opportunity to strike up a conversation and get a romance started.

Alas, radio host and television personality Andy Lee has revealed that dating as a celeb is actually a whole new level of weird.

Speaking to Newcastle-based radio show Hit106.9 FM’s Nick & Sophie, the 36-year-old explained that some celebrity dates are set up through each other's managers.

"I've had it happen a few times and it's a strange thing," he told the show.

"I won't say who, but my manager rang me one day and said, 'How about this?' and I was like, 'Nah, we're not doing this.'

"It was all a bit weird."

Thankfully for Andy, he met his now-girlfriend, Rebecca Harding, 25, through fairly "normal" circumstances.

The pair met in 2015 at a Melbourne cafe where Rebecca worked. The couple broke up in June last year but rekindled their romance in early December.

In a recent interview with 60 Minutes, Rebecca confessed that Lee's "celebrity status" initially made her wary.

"He hadn't had a girlfriend in a while and he was Cleo Bachelor of the Year," she said. "I thought he was a bit of a sleazebag, maybe."

Luckily, Andy soon showed his softer side.

"He's a bit sweeter than I actually was picturing. He's a really sweet, kind, generous person."

See? True love can happen all on its own...no manager meetings required.
