Add these Super-Moves to Your Arsenal

When you change your body plane (high to low, for example), you force your heart to work double-time. Add in any strengthening elements and you’ve got a total body workout in one super-move.

Burpees are a standard cardio powerhouse exercise that you can use to take your heart rate up whenever you want to burn more calories. This side variation targets the oblique muscles while sending your heart rate through the roof for one super-move you won’t forget.

Side Burpee Assignment

  1. Start in a standing position and imagine you are at the centre of a large clock with 3:00 on your right and 9:00 on your left.
  2. Bring your hands to the floor and jump your legs to the 3:00 position, keeping them as straight as you can before hopping back up to a standing position.
  3. Repeat on the left, jumping your legs to 9:00 and returning to the start position.
  4. Continue, for 30-seconds between your strength training workouts to keep your heart rate elevated and your calorie burn maximised.
