Newborn baby abandoned on doorstep of Griffith home.

A baby boy has been abandoned on the doorstep of a home at Griffith in south-west New South Wales.

Police said the baby was found in a pink cloth bassinet outside a home on Braeburn Street.

The home’s doorbell had been rung just before midnight, when the baby was found.

Police believe the mother is a teenager and they have appealed for her to come forward to receive medical care.

The baby, of Caucasian appearance, was possibly born on Friday morning and appears to be healthy and uninjured, police said.

They have urged anyone with information to contact Griffith Police via Crime Stoppers.
