A love story in 28 pictures.

They say a picture is worth a thousand words.

So with that in mind, we’ll shut up and leave you to look at this gallery: A love story in 28 pictures.

(But just a note – we recommend tissues. Probably best be ready with those ‘man-sized’ ones. And lots of them.)

That’s Taylor Morris and his partner Danielle. Taylor is a 23-year-old Navy EOD – which means he specialises in bomb disposal.  They’re the people in the pictures and this is their story.

Taylor was deployed on his first tour to Afghanistan in January of this year. He was supposed to return in August. But in May, in an area near the Kandahar province, he stepped on an IED (Improvised Explosive Devise).

That moment changed everything.

“As soon as I stepped on it, I knew. There was a moment, then I heard the blast. I felt the heat. I knew I had lost my legs. As I summersaulted through the air, I watched my legs fly off,” Taylor told thechive.com

The explosion also blew off his left arm and his right hand.

Danielle’s been at Taylor’s side since he arrived back in the USA. Most days they’re in and out of physical therapy, wound care and the prosthetic lab.  And despite all of that “they still find time to flirt and continue showing their love to one another constantly,” according to Taylor’s friend Tim.
