Say g'day to your new Eurovision hosts, Australia!

Get your passports ready and your sparkles out, the Eurovision Song Contest hosts for 2017 have been announced.

As of this May, comedian Joel Creasey will be teaming up with writer, radio host and Spicks & Specks alumnus Myf Warhurst to bring Australia all of the songs, satin and spandex from this year’s competition via SBS.

Watch: Myf and Joel come face  to face. Post continues…

Creasey and Warhurst will take over from long-time hosts Julia Zemiro and Sam Pang.

Announcing the news via a 90-second-long video on Friday, the duo will head to this year’s Eurovision city, Kiev, to catch the European competitors and 17-year-old Aussie representative Isaiah Firebrace.

And look, it makes no sense that Australia takes part in a European competition, we know that. But reason and rational thoughts have no place in the world of Eurovision. It’s just far too fabulous for that.

So without further ado, take your diaries out and note down May 12, the date which Eurovision kicks off.

Listen: The Binge have got the lowdown on Eurovision 2017 and Australian entrant Isaiah Firebrace.
