ICYMI: Scans reveal what the brain looks like on LSD.

In case you missed it, for the first time, scientists have scanned the brains of people on LSD.

Robin Cahart-Harris who led the study said, “In many ways, the brain in the LSD state resembles the state our brains were in when we were infants: free and unconstrained. This also makes sense when we consider the hyper-emotional and imaginative nature of an infant’s mind.”

The researchers even suggested that the drug might be beneficial for individuals stuck in a negative thought pattern, like those suffering from depression or addiction.

Monique Bowley, Kate de Brito and Mia Freedman discuss the findings, and even offer some insight from their own experiences.
