This 13-year-old Melbourne boy just raised over $6,200 with MS Melbourne Cycle.

Over the past five years, 13-year-old Daniel Sims has raised over $6,200 for people with multiple sclerosis (MS), the most common neurological condition in young adults.

Daniel lives with his family in Cheltenham and raises funds for MS by taking part in the MS Melbourne Cycle and seeking sponsorship from friends and family.

Daniel’s mother Samantha was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis 21 years ago and has to take medication to stay healthy.

Daniel has taken part in the last five MS Melbourne Cycle events along with his father and he recently started fundraising for the ninth annual MS Melbourne Cycle, which will take place on Sunday 19th April 2015.

Last year Daniel was awarded the Roffey Family Volunteerism Award by his school, Cheltenham Secondary College, for his extracurricular fundraising efforts.

The MS Melbourne Cycle is a fun, non-competitive event suitable for all ages and fitness levels. There are two course options available – a 50 km course or the more leisurely 30 km. The event is one of only two Melbourne bike rides with a route over the iconic West Gate Bridge.
