“I’m disgusted” says a papparazzi about the Britney coverage, before quitting.

One of the photographers working for the Splash agency who has been covering Britney’s mental illness – because that’s what it is – has quit in disgust.

In an interview with Radar online yesterday he describes being part of a pack of 40 photogs shooting Britney leaving a chemist, all running backwards to capture the scintillating moment and trampling a homeless woman lying on the street in the process. No-one stopped to help her.
“I’m absolutely dismayed and horrified at the spectacle in front of the general public.”

“Britney herself is clearly very ill,” Stern told Radar. “Anybody who
cannot see that girl needs help is blind or stupid. If you look at the
way in which her behavior has descended, you have to also consider
where it will end. She’s not going to suddenly wake up tomorrow fine.”

A buisness publication called Portfolio has just estimated the the “Britney-Industrial Complex” is worth about US$120m a year to
the US economy – everything from the fees generated by her pictures to
the boost in circulation, as much as one-third more, enjoyed by
publications who put her on the cover.

In the paparazzi agencies, Britney alone currently accounts for as
much as 30% of total revenues. That is astonishing. So you can see that
there are a lot of people who are heavily invested in Britney getting
out of hospital – well or not – and continuing her mental illness on the streets on Hollywood, in front of the world.
