The week in gossip: five blissful baby announcements

It may be tragically remembered as the week Fast & Furious star Paul Walker lost  his life, but there was so much good news to celebrate too, with 5 celebrities making baby announcements.

>> Today Show star Leila McKinnon and Nine CEO David Gyngell revealed they are expecting their second child. The couple welcomed a son Ted, in October 2012 after a long IVF struggle. Leila told The Australian Women's Weekly earlier this year that it took nine years, including five years of IVF, for her to get pregnant the first time around.

>> Aussie model and actress Gemma Ward became a mum. Gemma and her partner, fellow model David Letts, welcomed a baby girl on Wednesday - their first child together. It's believed the couple travelled to Hawaii for the birth of their daughter, whose name is reportedly Naia. Nicole Trunfio, Gemma's friend and fellow Perth-born catwalk star, has shared a photo of Gemma is  tenderly breastfeeding her daughter.

>>  “Queen WAG” Terry Biviano gave birth to a baby girl. She and her football star husband Anthony Minichiello (who plays for the Roosters), welcomed the 3.65kg bub just after 9pm last night at the Mater Hospital on Sydney’s North Shore. Minichiello announced the news to friends via a text message that read: “Filling our arms with love and our hearts with joy, we proudly announce the birth of our beautiful daughter! Both girls are doing well. Thrilled parents Terry & Anthony.”

>> ABC-TV presenter Adam Hills posted this gorgeous pic of his new baby daughter with the caption: "Last #Movember shot. I grew a mo called Merv & my wife grew a baby girl called Maisie Grace. What a month!" Maisie joins Beatrice Pearl, born in 2010.

>> Michael Jordan, 50, announced he's expecting his first child with wife Yvette Prieto, who he married earlier this year in a lavish ceremony attended by 500 people. This will be his fourth child — he has three grown children with ex-wife Juanita Vanoy, whom he divorced in 2006 after 17 years of marriage.

>> Speaking of babies, North West met artist Jeff Koons. As you do when you're a Kardashian.

>> Fast and The Furious star Paul Walker was been killed in a car accident in Southern California. Walker had attended a car show to support the Philippines typhoon relief effort and was taking friends out for drives in his new Porsche. Walker was 40 and the father of a 15-year-old daughter, Meadow (above), who had recently moved to California from Hawaii to be closer to him.

The cast of the Fast & Furious franchise have made a Paul Walker tribute video, which the franchise released on its official YouTube channel earlier this week. Set to "Coming Home" by P.Diddy, and running slightly more than two minutes, is a beautiful tribute to Walker. Watch it by clicking here.

>> Nigella Lawson admitted to using cocaine eight times while testifying in the fraud trial against her two former personal assistants. She blamed the most recent incident in July 2010, on her ex-husband Charles Saatchi subjected her to "intimate terrorism".

"I have to say, since freeing myself from a brilliant but brutal man, I'm now totally cannabis-, cocaine-, any drug-free," she said.

Nigella went on to explain the infamous incident in which Saatchi was photographed grabbing her throat.

She testified that he told everyone he was trying to get cocaine out of her nose. "But what actually happened was that somebody walked by with a very cute baby in a stroller and I said 'I am so looking forward to having grandchildren', and he grabbed me by the throat and said 'I am the only person you should be concerned with. I am the only person who should be giving you pleasure.' That is what happened."

>> Nineties heartthrob Christian Slater has married his girlfriend Brittany Lopez in an impromptu ceremony. The pair, who have been dating for three years and announced their engagement in February, opted for a simple wedding at a courthouse in Miami.

>> Star Wars has joined Instagram and it's first pic was a corker: a selfie of Darth Vader. In less than 24 hours the photo, which was captioned "Another day at the office. #StarWars #DarthVader #selfies #gpom" had received more than 23,000 likes.

>> Britney Spears confessed to Ellen DeGeneres that she used to play spin-the-bottle with Justin Timberlake and Ryan Gosling when they all starred on The Mickey Mouse Club.

>> The Big Bang Theory star Kaley Cuoco and her fiance Ryan Sweeting couldn't wait until after their wedding to take a holiday. The pair jetted off to the Bahamas for a Thanksgiving getaway. Oh to be young, in love and at the beach...

>> Sharon Osbourne confessed during an interview on "The Graham Norton Show" that she has undergone numerous surgical procedures to maintain her youthful appearance, including getting her "vagina tightened". She said it "was the worst" and "just excruciating." Asked if she thought it was worth it, she replied: "My husband thinks so. It’s back the way God wanted it to be."

>> Shane Warne proudly revealed that his eldest daughter Brooke, 15, had flown to Thailand to help out at an orphanage. Brooke finished her last exam on November 27 then flew out the same night on the school trip. He shared photos of his daughter at work on Instagram, captioning one: "Brooke has always wanted to make a difference to the the less fortunate, well done."

>> Bob Irwin, the youngest child of the late Steve Irwin and his wife Terri celebrated his tenth birthday at Australia Zoo last Sunday. It was just your regular kid's birthday - he was presented with an awesome dinosaur cake and graduated from feeding small freshwater crocodiles to feeding the big salt water ones.
