Society is training women at progressively younger ages to be objects for the pleasures of men. Every bit of our society is saturated by it in both subtle and explicit ways. It makes me furious for all women.I've only given birth to boys. They tried using "girl" as an insult once. Once. The way I went off, they'll never do it again. I'm now on the waiting list for foster-to-adopt and hope to adopt two girls. I plan to home school them. There will be no make-up, no bras, no bikinis, no HEELS (which I saw on a girl of nine or ten, getting off the school bus in our community a couple of weeks ago). I plan to shelter them (and the boys) from our over sexualized society as much as I can. I want to let them just be kids while I instill a strong sense of self worth in them. Hopefully by the time they have to grow up and face the world at large, they'll have a firm foundation that makes them ready for it.Our world sacrifices women at the altar of men, tearing women down to build men up. It sickens me, and I wonder if we'll ever achieve true equality.

You are absolutely correct, and it speaks of a much deeper issue: the objectification of women.
