It’s giveaway time! Who wants the latest new Cyber-shot digital camera from Sony?
Sometimes, I am too close to this website. Like now, for example. For weeks – months actually – I've been wracking my brain to come up with a tagline for Mamamia. A few words that explain exactly what this website IS.
If you clicked on mamamia.com.au for the first time and didn't know what the site was about, what short sentence or few words would tell you? Sony have generously given me this free just released W series Cyber-shot digital camera to give away to the Mamamia reader who comes up with the best tagline. More details about the camera and how you can get your hands on it, after the jump……
All you need to do to enter is to submit a comment – only one tagline suggestion per comment but you can comment as many separate times as you like and come back as often as you like whenever inspiration strikes you over the next few days.
I'm going to leave this post open until next Wednesday and announce the winner after that.

Clearly I should be working rather than trying to come up with a tagline but procrastination is my middle name. It just hit me that surely the best byline HAS to be one that features your name.
“Mia Freedman online” (or speaks, blogs, says shares, etc instead of the word online)
Maybe your photo shoudl be more prominent too. Nothing wrong with that! Most females in Oz know who you are and your past (um sounds dubious but I mean in media).
There are too many Mommy bloggers out there and if I found ‘Mamamia’ in search results I would not have read further. It was just that a friend told me it was your blog and, given I have read you for a long time in the print media, I started reading.
Maybe your name needs to be more obvious on your own blog. The overseas market will follow anyone with large readerships..
And no I know nothing about marketing but……I do like blogging….ok back to work….

Whether Mia needs a tagline or not, it’s a fun exercise trying to come up with one! I think we all know it’s a bit silly, but what’s wrong with having a go?
I think Mia probably had that in mind when she thought of this, too. Come on, give it a go! You’ll laugh at the weirdest stuff you come up with.

As a long-term reader Mia, I don’t think you need a tagline. It’s hard to sum up the topics covered here, its not just mum-related, and I think anyone clicking on your site will see that the content speaks for itself.
I know this won’t win me a camera, but I’d stick with the way you are. No explanation needed!
Mia, I can see why it took you months and you still couldn’t find one that fits. This is really difficult. Nancy C I hate to burst your bubble, but I seem to remember a story Mia wrote when pregnant with Coco (years ago) when she bought a Bugaboo.
From one very real, very hard working mother to another Mia I don’t think the fact that you or I or any mother owns a Bugaboo makes us fake mothers. But each to their own I guess. Maybe it was tongue in cheek Nancy C.

Also, you cover too much to define what it is plus your market is broad based, not just mothers, women, intellectuals, fashionists etc.
