Comment Rules Imagine this is a dinner party. Differences of opinion are welcome but keep it respectful or the host will show you the door. If you're rude or abusive, your comment will be deleted (so will comments responding to other rude comments because they won’t make sense - so save your breath). Yeah I understand what you mean squeak. I get frustrated too though because most “mainstream” stores (ie. target, kmart, big w) don’t cater for size 6s at all.. So it forces me to shop at designer stores and it sucks!
Stores and designers need some middle ground I think!
I have a lot of problems with items not being cut properly for a size 6 too – they’re still super long and haven’t been kept in proportion. Again, it sucks
Apparently we have the same problem, regardless of what size we’re shopping for?! It’s either stores and designers.. or maybe just us squeak? haha
britts – i don’t mind designers catering for smaller sizes, it’s just when they seem to design exclusively for one body shape that i get annoyed. or in chain shops like target, where their larger sizes are just the smaller sizes with the seams let out. they don’t make the larger designs to fit a larger body with different proportions. i’m guessing not every size twelve is simply an inflated version of a size six, with the same proportions – often, the larger lady will have a bigger tummy, wider bottom, etc. proportional to the rest of her. or back in the good old days, where i was a size ten everywhere except the boobs, which were about a 14. finding decent tops was nightmarish.
I don’t know.. People always seem to get frustrated when designers cater for size 6-8/XS-S people – but I find it SO hard to find stores that stock size 6 and XS (and when they do, they only have one or two of the item), yet most stores go up to size 14. It’s frustrating.
Target have started getting in size 6s in a few of their jeans and pants FINALLY!
Not a fan of Sass & Bide clothing either. Nothing fits, cuts are all wrong, for me anyway. Can you really be exclusive to a certain age group in these times? I think not. Love Missoni, especially the beautiful homewares.
Thank you thank you thank you!!!! It’s not just me who gets frustrated with Sass & Bide clothes! I’m not big, but I’ll be dammned if they’ve ever thought of a woman my size or shape when designing their jeans. Makes Me Cross. (Mind you, I look quite fab in my target cheapies anyway).
Nope – I don’t get Sass and Bide either. The girls always look the same – messy layers with no shape. Trying too hard i think. I am just under 6 foot and between a size 10, 12 and 14 – depending on the designer and I always look awful in their clothes. They never fit right and I don’t know of anyone who actually looks good in them either…
I dont get Sass and Bide either. I dont get the messed up look of it. Too busy, too many layers. My only friend who can fit into their jeans is is tiny like a 10 year old girl.
Sorry mbcontessa and lesley – I love the Sass & Bide girls!
Mind you.. I’m only 5″2, so not exactly tall or the person they had in mind when designing their clothes. But a few alterations and some hemming tape goes a long way with their clothes, haha Their tops fit little people too!
Is it JUST me…or do others just not get the whole Sass and Bide thing too? I mean really…talk about your made for tall, thin and angular types who are feeling VERY brave…

I wouldn’t trust fashion designers who think outfits like the ones they’re wearing look good!
