Last night I was asked to be part of a discussion on Radio National's Australia Talks program about Body Image.The other guests were a woman who spoke about her battle with anorexia and bulimia as well as: Professor Phillipa Hay, Foundation Chair of Mental Health, University of Western Sydney and Julie Parker, General manager, The Butterfly Foundation

  1. I put this on my iPod Mia. I hate myself at the moment and I actually used to have anorexic tendencies. I get what you mean about comparing urself to other people, and that we can’t help it :( It’s just, I see the extremes as being good things, like I see eating disorders as ideology. Put it this way, I’ve hated myself since I was 11, I’m 14 now and it recently got worse, when I ended up with tendencies. All I know is that I can’t really talk to anyone except my skating coach, because she’s not gonna talk to my parents. I hate being in a shell D:

    I heard you Thursday night Mia. I agreed with what you said. Did you hear what some of the callers after you said? One woman said that everyone can be thin if they try to be and I was like, huh?!
