Because we love her…

Tina Fey, not Sarah Palin. Here is this weekend’s SNL with Amy Poehler playing Katie Couric…

After the jump, the ACTUAL interview Palin did with Katie…..

You’re so right, Kate – she sounds like she’s been cramming for her oral exam, but fails it anyway! Definately not smarter than a 5th grader! And yep – Katie Couric’s frozen forehead is a distraction. Maybe she’s trying to concentrate on a spot on the wall or something, just so she won’t completely wet herself laughing!

She seriously sounds like a fourth former doing a debate. Her answer to the Russia/Alaska question (on the second part of the interview) is BIZARRE, and her answer re what ’specifically’ they are doing about promoting democracy is genuinely more amusing that the Fey sketch. She doesn’t scare me – the fact that Americans have not laughed her completely off the public stage – that scares me.

on another note, and without meaning to detract from the bigger issue here, but… was it just me or did anyone else find Katie’s completely frozen forehead just a tad distracting?

only just managed to fix the sound on my computer… it’s true, Emma, SP is almost as funny as Tina Fey. except she’s for real. which makes it a little less funny and a lot more scary. let’s hope they get it right this time…

I laughed at both of those, but for very different reasons.
Tina and Amy were hilarious (i loved the blinking) and while watching the real Sarah… well if I didn’t laugh I might cry! How can she be a contender for V.P.?

Agree with Jaime here – totally like SP is flinging out random words.. Its like she’s memorised a list of political words to sound more credible.. haha.. when it just highlights her ignorance… oh dear i fear for America! Go Barack Obama!!

That woman is disgusting, her platitudinous rambling surely has to be offensive to any intelligent, thinking person. They’ve had actor Ronald Reagan as president, they’ve seen the ‘Terminator’ as a governor, could fiction be far from fact that perhaps they would be better off with Tina Fey as VP, and Katie Couric as President!
Is Australia in such dire straits as this ? Unfortunately, I’d put Mal and Kev ahead of most homegrown comics, don’t get me wrong, I love local talent, just that Malcolm and Kevin are both funnier than Kath and Kim. Mind you, John Clarke would have a place in the ministry. And Jimoien as Minister for Silly Walks. Or perhaps leader of the state Labor Party, that rabble couldn’t get more ludicrous than it presently is.

Its like SP is just flinging out random words, not even expecting them to make sense. Scary, scary, scary.

Too funny. Those girls are awesome comics, but you really can’t even write anything funnier than what she’s already said in the original interview. Loved it.

Love Tina Fey she is bang on. Don’t forget to shore up the economy! SP is useless. I find it facinating that no one talks about the moral abyss that the US investment bankers and lenders fell into that allowed the actions taken on buying these failing mortgages etc to be ok. Its not that removed from the crash that started the Great Depression, and it seems that people in power either never learn or don’t care.

Tina Fey…funny as all get out!
Sarah Palin…well, I was going to say scary, but my feelings about her are swing from pity to horror.
The New York Times has a couple of great articles if anyone’s interested. There’s this one by Maureen Dowd

    and another by Frank Rich.

    They really are worth reading.
