At least she’s not pretending she keeps skinny thanks to a fast metabolism and laughing a lot…..
Do you like this story?
That’s what celebrities usually lie say.
Gwyneth told Oprah that SIX DAYS A WEEK she does TWO HOURS of this:
So she can look like this:
Kudos to Gwyneth who went on Oprah last week to plug her new reality food show that documents her travelling around Spain with her chef friend to eat. Yes, eat. Food. Gwyneth is macrobiotic no more, people. Can you cope?
As part of the interview, she invited cameras to watch her work out. It’s very cute. She’s wearing no make-up, is quite un-co in parts and very sweaty…..
To see video of her working out….go here. It’s excellent.
She also spoke about how Madonna helped her through her post-natal depression…

Good on you Gwen. It takes a lot of guts to show your real self without any makeup. She puts her own ego and vanity aside and connects with us real women. I am so proud of her for doing that.

Awsome. She just went up about 10 places in my personal “Celebs I love” list!

So refreshing. Just like your article in SMH on Sunday Mia. Nice to hear celebs are actually human and they don’t look like they do just by getting 8 hours sleep a night! Thanks for bringing it to our attention!

DocWho I would look at her working out for 2 hours a day the same as any Mum that works. Sometimes you have to put your kids in care to do your job, and I think that keeping fit and healthy looking would definitely be a part of her job description.

Only thing that worries me is that doesn’t she have 2 small children? Does she really put working out for 2 hours a day above spending that time with them? I’m all for working out and keeping fit – but anything more than an hour a day seems a bit self-indulgent. I have 2 small kids and before I had them I would certainly have spent up to 2 hours every day exercising, but now it just doesn’t seem so important to be super-skinny. I still run 30-60 minutes most days but the days of never-ending gym sessions are behind me. Thank god!

I’m still not a fan (I recently read an interview that Plum Sykes did with Gwyneth in American Vogue which was beyond annoying) however I do respect her honesty! Good on her for not perpetuating the myth that you can have a bod like hers with no effort.

“Refreshing” is exactly the right word. I loved watching this clip almost as much as I loved those pics of Angelina Jolie in her nightie looking like a woman who had just given birth to twins. No make-up, no airbrushing, no pretence. Loved it!!

Never thought much of Gwyneth before (actually I thought she was insipid and fake), but now I think she’s fabulous. Admits to PND and that she has to work hard to look like she does. She’s very brave and real.

Wow, good on you Gwen.
Honest about working her ass off (literally) every day to try to maintain her image (tick), honest about eating food (tick), honest about having PND (double tick) and honest about having DMCs over a few wines with one of your besties (who just happens to be Maddonna).
Nice work.

ooops, sorry Carm, you already used that word.

I never felt particularly strongly about gwyneth one way or the other. But my respect for her has just risen to dizzy heights! How refreshing it is to have someone admit that a good metabolim is not always enough!

Yeah! I love that she was un-co, sweaty and no makeup!!! Wow……….. So refreshing!

Yay for Gwyneth not perpetuating the myth! Love, love, love her.
