So I guess that parenting book by Britney’s mum is on hold for a bit…..

Britney’s little sister Jamie Lynne is pregnant at 16. She was born in 1991. Are you feeling old yet?

This is so many shades of wrong I’m really unsure where to begin. Deep breath. Let’s go.

How about with the fact that the Spears family chose to tell the world about Jamie Lynne’s pregnancy VIA A PAID MAGAZINE DEAL. Have they not yet learnt that a life lived very publicly through the media from a young age leads to…I don’t know…THE TRAINCRASH THAT IS BRITNEY SPEARS?

 

I’m trying hard not to be moral about this. The kid is 16 and I believe I too was having sex, ahem, around that time. But there’s just something a bit yuck about the way the tawdriness of La Mess Britney is spreading genetically.
According to the extensive interview in OK magazine, the father is her teen
boyfriend, Casey Aldridge. Sounds like a perfect start for a new baby to me!

"It was a shock for both of us, so unexpected," she says. "I was
in complete and total shock and so was he." Spears is 12 weeks pregnant, and initially kept the news to
herself when she learned of the pregnancy from an at-home test and
subsequent doctor visit, she told the celebrity magazine.

"As soon as I found out for sure from the doctor, I took two
weeks to myself where I didn’t tell anybody," she says. "Only one
of my friends knew because I needed to work out what I would do for
myself before I let anyone’s opinion affect my decision. Then I
told my parents and my friends. I was scared, but I had to do what
was right for me."

Spears apparently broke the news to her mother, Lynne, just before the
Thanksgiving holiday on November 22, the magazine says."She was very upset because it wasn’t what she expected at all,"
Spears says. "A week after, she had time to cope with it and became
very supportive."

So suportive that she was able to organise a quick magazine story to break the news to the world, thus ensuring her youngest daughter’s place on the cover of gossip magazines for the next five year cycle. Lucky us!
Will Lynne Spears (the dad’s name is Jamie – hence the youngest daughter being called Jamie-Lynn – so clever, that) have to build an extension on her house to make room for all her gran-babies whose own mothers aren’t able to take care of them?

And what happened to the idea of privacy? This kid is 16 and in the very early stages of pregnancy. Why on EARTH would anyone think it was a great idea to open the tabloid floodgates? Welcome to the latest installment of Celebrity Traincrash.
