The newest The Voice Australia coach has finally been announced.

Popstar Boy George is set to join The Voice Australia as a coach in 2017.

The musician will join Delta Goodrem and Seal who will return to their turning chairs next year.

The Culture Club frontman has previously been a coach on the The Voice UK with Will.i.am, Paloma Faith and Ricky Wilson.

“I can’t wait to get back into that chair,” George told Channel Nine.

“I consider my first season in the UK as a warm-up. I am excited to see what great talent Australia has to offer and sharing my experience and wisdom.”

The 55-year-old singer admits staying in the music industry is “hard work”.

He is in currently on tour in Australia performing with Culture Club.

He has tough competition with seasoned judge Goodrum and Seal – who on both his seasons after being a part of its original panel in 2012 and 2013.

Singer Jessie J announced in July that she wouldn’t be returning to the show.

The final coach for the show’s sixth season will be revealed soon.
