She found her boyfriend's cheating text messages. But Ashley had some important edits to make.

In a tale as old as time, a man has been caught cheating on his current girlfriend with his ex-girlfriend. It’s how the girlfriend handled it, though, that has got everyone laughing out loud and fist pumping.

Discovering a series of texts on her boyfriend’s phone that were meant for someone who definitely wasn’t her, Michigan woman Ashley decided to get even and headed to Twitter.

The first phase of her revenge plan was to take a copy of printed out and photocopied tweets to her boyfriend's work.

"Cute texts from my boyfriend, except they weren't to me :(" Ashley tweeted, adding, "so their [sic] in the trunk. He's in for a surprise."

And hey, we live in an information-sharing age, so credit to Ashley for laying everything out on the table.

Following the paper drop off, Ashley moved into phase two of her ultimate revenge plan, posting pictures of the messages to Twitter, her annotated notes visible.

In one series of text exchanges, where the boyfriend has asked to meet up with his ex-girlfriend, she writes, "Uhh don't you have a gf...? And I'm in a sorority meeting for at least an hour."

The boyfriend then replies, "No I don't and so?"

Beneath the text is a note from Ashley in pink marker that reads, "Wait you don't?"

Other texts also show the boyfriend telling his ex that he's "hard" and that he wants to stay the night with her, saying, "I can wake you up with plenty of time".

After tweeting the damning photos, Ashley fired off one last tweet to her near 3,000 followers.

A piece of me for four years was just ripped out of me, all I want to do is drown myself in birthday cake ice cream and cry."

Ashley, if you're reading this just know, no judgement. We've all been there.
