These twin toddlers decided to 'redecorate' hours after being put to bed.

There are many great aspects to having twins. Matching outfits, instant playmates, recreating The Parent Trap… but trying to get your adorable duo to behave? Not so much.

Just ask Brisbane parents Sue and Stephen who, after leaving their twin girls Jess and Sophie with a babysitter to enjoy a much-needed date night over the weekend, returned home to discover their girls were not only out of bed, but also covered in paint.

As was the floor.

And their toys.

And their bed.

And their hair.

The poor, unsuspecting babysitter had put the twins to bed hours earlier and was amazed at how quiet and well behaved they were being.

Unbeknownst to her, though, the twins had in fact climbed to the top of a bookshelf and found a bottle of blue paint.

Capturing the discovery on film, Stephen can be heard asking, "Jess, what have you done bubby? What are you girls doing?"

"Look at all this paint all over," Sue says with shock.

Listen: Anne Stephens talks about the unique pressures of raising twins on I Don't Know How She Does It.

Meanwhile, the twins just smile and wave like the masterminds that they are.

When Stephen finally asks who is responsible for their crime scene-esque creation, one of the girls claims the bunny "did the paint," before the other replies, "Teddy!"

Ah, yes. Teddy. He's always the bloody culprit, isn't he?
