Woman crashes into police car while taking topless selfie.

It’s never a good idea to try and take a selfie while driving, tempting as it might be, and a teenager has found this out the hard way after slamming into a police car this week while attempting this tricky manoeuvre.

Miranda Rader, 19, a student at Texas A&M University, was driving down a busy road near campus on Wednesday when she drove straight into a stationary police car stopped in front of her. She wasn’t texting, she wasn’t sneezing, she was attempting a topless selfie.

We’ll let that visual image sink in for a second.

Apart from the crashing a motor vehicle part, nudity while driving can result in a charge of “indecent exposure” in the U.S.

"I asked her why she was not dressed while driving and she stated she was taking a Snapchat photo to send to her boyfriend while she was at a red light," the arresting officer wrote in an affidavit, saying that Rader was trying to put her top back on as he approached the vehicle.

The officer also spotted an open bottle of wine in the car's cup holder.

Reuters reports Rader was arrested for "suspicion of driving while intoxicated" but not with indecent exposure.

The teenager was released on a USD $2000 bond (approximately AUD $2638).
