Top tips for making the most of your holiday photos

With the advances in digital cameras and mobile phones, it’s easy to take photos of any occasion and capture the moment there and then. Sadly though, many pictures are left forgotten on the hard drive, or only rediscovered years later. So if you want to know how to make the most of your memories, look no further. Here are some gems of advice on ways to display and share your photos.

Scrapbooks

Join crafting fanatics in this trend which is sweeping the nation! With scrapbooking, you can be as creative with your photos as you like. And it’s easy. To get started, simply choose the photos you want to include, along with a theme or colour scheme for the pages. Other items can be included to create a journal of your trip, such as ticket stubs from a day out, a shell from the beach or even the umbrella from your cocktail.

Cards

Recent consumer research revealed that 79 per cent of people are more likely to keep a card for longer if the design is bespoke to them. Why not include a favourite photo on a birthday/celebratory card and personalise the message to the recipient? Is there something special that only the two of you know? If you’re creating a thank you card, why not make it postcard-style and get in the holiday spirit?

Photobooks

As with scrapbooks, creating a photobook is a great way to present your best shots as something to keep and look back on in the future. You can choose the layout, borders and even add captions or funny titles to your photos. It is easy to design them on your own computer, and you can even print them yourself or choose to leave it to a professional. Either way, you can create a personalised final product to keep forever.

Canvas Print

If you have a space on a wall you have been meaning to fill for a while, why not choose a scenic shot? Show off the view from your hotel room or your family having fun on the beach. These natural photos can create more of an atmosphere and make a great talking point for when you have family and friends over.

Personalised items – eg keyrings, mugs

If you can’t face getting back to normality, there are plenty of everyday items you can get your photos printed on. Keyrings, mugs, fridge magnets and mouse mats make great novelty gifts for loved ones and are guaranteed to bring holiday memories flooding back once you are eased back into your regular daily routine.
