One mum's excellent shoe lace tying tutorial for kids with autism.

The skill of tying ones shoelaces is an evil necessity and teaching that requires more patience than most parents can muster. The joy of combatting the first knot is short-lived when the ‘bunny ears’ step comes to light, What a nightmare.

Kirsten Johnson, the mum and blogger behind the ‘Unstoppable mother’ recently posted a live video of a simple tutorial that has parents everywhere rejoicing because it’s the easiest way to teach kids to tie shoe laces. (Story continues below.)

Parents of children with autism have praised the video and the effective method. “I tried this with my 11 yr old (who has autism) I’ve never been able to teach him. THIS WORKED!!!!!” one viewer wrote. “My son is 14 and has autism so he has so much trouble using his fingers. This will be easy for him,” Another viewer wrote.

“It’s a starting point to help give the kids confidence,” Kristen said of the video.

Since its original live broadcast, the video has been viewed over 5.7 million times.
